easter melbourne

I’ve said it so many times before.. but Melbourne is such a lovely city. I travel there for conferences both work and blog related several times a year – but it is still one of my preferred short holiday destinations.

During Easter, Jeanice and myself decided to head down there for a getaway and to catch up with some of our girlfriends from there. Although we don’t get to see these girls much, it happens that we click so well when we do see them.

Thanks Shizuka and Valerie for taking time to take us around to dine at so many amazing cafes and restaurants!

On arrival to Melbourne, it was Easter Friday, so Jeanice and I headed over to Chinatown to find some asian stores and restaurants rather than Melbourne CBD. Asian stores are bound to be open! *thumbsup

Malaysian food + Teh Tarik (cold)!

Then we wondered off into an Asian phone cases and accessories store and found this!!!! Decided we both needed this new phone case. BFF cases now. <3

After a nap and a bit, we met up with the rest of the girls and dined at Koko at Crowne – why didn’t my Melbourne followers tell me how good it was? I would have gone last time I was there!!!

After Koko, we went down to Rockpool for drinks and dessert. This is a fail moment.. which you would have heard about if you follow me and the girls on twitter or facebook.

Photo taken by Neil Perry – owner of Rockpool.

Off to an event at Longroom! Photo taken by club promoters or someone waiting in line at Longroom. Pretty nice photo I’d say! Emily joined us!

The next morning

We met up with the girls again for brunch at The Grasshopper’s Treat!

Melbourne CBD for shopping

Then to Brunetti for dessert

I love this gorgeous pic baby Jeanice took for me! The lighting is just perfect and my red hair is glowing. Yay.

At night, the girls and I went to Red Spice Road for dinner. We also met up with Rosannetangrs who joined us for asian karaoke too!! We couldn’t take many pictures inside since it was so dim, but here is one of me and Shizuka!

By the way, when I’m coming back to Melbourne, the first place I’m going to visit is this thai restaurant. Their dishes are mouth-wateringly delicious that no words could even express how tasty it is!!!!!! This is where being a food blogger would come in handy.

We hit Rainbow Karaoke shortly after dinner and had a crazy 5 hour session!!! All the girls here but Jeanice :(

But she gets a special photo with me. <3

And.. just me doin’ my thing at karaoke! Check out the asian artists on the screeen!

The night ended well with taiwanese dessert and the next morning, Jeanice and I satisfied our cravings.

For me, I wanted…. spanish churros from Queen Victoria Markets.

And for Jeanice, it was Gyu-tan Don from Melbourne Central!

This was my awesome Easter break. How was everyone elses?

I hope we are all starving from reading my post now because I’m a click away from purchasing a ticket back to Melbourne for the food!!! Why does Melbourne have all the good food?

24th celebrations

I’ve just returned from Melbourne last night and have finally settled down at home to make a blog post! Melbourne is such a beautiful city for their food, art and culture! It’s probably my 4th time there – but it still never fails to surprise me with their differences to Sydney.

I’ll make my next post about Melbourne.

This post.. will be about my birthday celebrations. Last Thursday – right before I stepped onto the plane to Melbourne – I held a birthday dinner with my close friends at J-ten Japanese Restaurant. One of my bestest friends, Chris, was the photographer of the night and took amazing photos. xx

My cupcakes were amazing. I could not stress how much I love my girls for surprising me with this.

Youtube logo, Louis Vuitton bag, Chanel lipstick, Chanel eyeshadow palette and “happy birthday baby janice“. I have never felt so loved in my life.

Unforgettable happy moments

When life doesn’t seem to be right, you keep your head up and continue to walk – run if you have to. Never settle for less because you always deserve better. The best tip I’ve ever been given is to “never look back because everything happens for a reason”. They say “Life is too short to have regrets”, but you don’t have to be perfect not to have regrets, you just have to keep walking forward and show everyone you don’t care.

Rabbito

I finally purchased the Rabbito case after complaining last year about how much I wanted it. See here for my rants.

Actually, this could very well be one of the reasons I switched over to the iPhone. Great marketing for the iPhone guys, Rabbito baby!

Say hello to Pikachu :)

Props to my friend, Chris for letting me borrow his camera for these shots.

I think I want an SLR again.

Butter London

Button London polish review

I’ve heard the rave.. and I’ve heard the obsession with the polishes, but I wanted to try it out for myself and see how it was really like.

1. Tarte with a Hart

Sheer gold polish with silver specks of glitter – very sheer but extremely pretty over a coat of gold polish.

2. The Dark Knight

My favourite one out of the lot – deep purple with specks of glitter. Again sheer, but over dark polish, looks amazing.

3. No more Waity Katy

A purple-grey with specks of purple glitter which I thought I would love… but didn’t end up being my favourite. A little flaky when applied but the base colour is gorgeous.

4. Muggins

I couldn’t capture a photo of this shade nicely – but it’s definitely a baby pastel purple. I really love it. 2-3 coats required for an event thick opaque look.

5. Knackered

a metallic,  galaxy-like polish which I’m not too sure about – but I will show you guys what it looks like later

Overall review:

Loved the range of the colours in these polishes, I love how they have “names” for each of the polishes!! The polishes are a little more on the expensive side (compared to your Essie, China Glaze, OPI), but I think they are worth it for the packaging, quality of the polishes. These polishes are also the first brand established to be toxic-free, hence they contain NO Formaldehyde, NO Toluene, NO DBP.

red hair

After months and months of contemplating red hair, I finally decided to dye it.

For the past few years, I’ve always been told what to do and what not to do.. it’s the end of it now. I do whatever I want to do!

And that includes being a red head.

My hair is a little dry at the moment because I had to double process to get this colour, I think it’s all worth it. Dove should be able to repair my hair for me though (^__^)

silk eyelash extensions

ohai! whats been happening dear readers?

I’m actually just about to step into the bathroom to dye my hair but thought I’d get a blog post up because I’ve been MIA for so long!! Horrible me.

About 3 weeks ago, I decided to jump onto the eyelash extensions bandwagon. BFF, Joanna, introduced me to mink/silk eyelashes and I’m honestly not going back to plastic ones.

I’ve had really bad experiences with plastic eyelash extensions in the past. They always seemed to pull and tug at my eyelashes and I never seemed to be able to pull them all off evenly!!! I swore never to ruin my eyelashes with eyelash extensions again.

But, that being said…. after trying the silk eyelash extensions, I’ve decided to that I want to have eyelash extensions for the rest of my life!! Except that it is actually more high maintenance than bleached hair!

Here are the amazing lashes from top view. I have one of the longest lengths possible – 12, 13mm.

I love that they look so natural! I’ve asked so many people and no one can tell that they are eyelash extensions!!!

On the side because I think they look so amazing from every angle. I don’t know what happened with the blurry hand by the way – I did not try to edit it. There was just a random  blurry patch.

The best thing about eyelash extensions is saving time. Being an office girl, I wake up at 7am every morning to shower, make up and change. These eyelash extensions has pushed my alarm back to 7.30am, and I have saved so much time getting ready!!! :D

Maintenance – extremely high
Cost – extremely high
Convenience – extremely convenient!

If you’re up for it, I highly highly recommend it!

life right now

Lately.. I haven’t been blogging much. No.. I haven’t.

Infact, I’ve actually been enjoying my life a lot outside of the internet world. But.. I’ve definitely missed you guys.

I want to include you guys in every minute of my life.. I want to include you guys in every moment I’m happy and every moment I’m sad. Unfortunately though.. that is what twitter is used for. #selfpromoting

On here, I can only summarise the happenings and my life lessons.

Throughout the last month, I have learnt that everything happens for a reason. Such an old.. but wise quote.

I have learnt and experienced so much.. just simply by believing it. If something tragic has happened, you just have to learn to let go. There is really no point in hanging on.

Last month, I met one of my best friends, Jo.. we clicked so well that I do not know anyone I could get along better with. From there on, she taught me that.. everything does happen for a reason. It’s strange, if you can’t let go of one thing, nothing good will ever come to you.. you’re always going to be to too busy looking back at what you lost.

Losing someone is difficult, but I think the hardest part is usually learning to find out just how strong you are, just how little that person really meant to you.

I’ve lost lovers, best friends, friends and pets in the past.. and I know it’s difficult. Every time you lose something close to you.. you try to find a reason to keep holding on… but trust me, the best way is to just let it go… the earlier, the better, the easier…

I want to inform ya’ll.. that I’m happy. No matter what has happened in the past.. I’m happy now. I’m fine now. I thank everyone for the blessings, for the emails, for the messages on facebook, for all the virtual hugs and kisses I received. My readers, friends and family have been the greatest support of all. x

Proof that I’m happy and back in my own camwhoring little world.

With new BFF, Jo – who, by the way, has the most amazing heart and face and body in the whole world ♥

With one of my other favourite girls, Jean – Pandablush! ♥

And the three of us together. ♥♥♥

This is my life now.

This is a quick update on how I am, what I’ve been up to and how I’m enjoying my life.

Transform my hair Giveaway

Sponsored by Nuffnang and Dove

I’m still in the middle of my hair transformation which I’ll be showing results in about a week or two..

So what is my routine for this transformation?

Step 1.
Shampoo & condition your hair as usual.  If you prefer to use a range, you can definitely try the new Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo and Conditioner!

Step 2. Towel dry until hair stops dripping wet! I usually leave my hair for about 10 minutes before applying any treatment

Step 3. Squeeze one or two pumps of the Dove nutri-oil serum (depending on the length and thickness of your hair) onto the palms of your hand and rub together.

Step 4. Apply to the ends of your hair only.

The reason why I only apply the serum to the ends of my hair is because your scalp produces the oil on your hair – therefore, your oil tends to become much oilier than the ends of your hair. The ends of your hair has also battled through much more heat tools and chemicals from hair dye, so the ends of your hair are critical!

One of the best things about Dove Nutri-Oil serum however, is that it is weightless!!! So for those of us who are obsessed with our supermodel voluminous hair, you can still achieve that with this product!!!

Most oil-based products are on the heavier side, but with a blend of coconut and almond oils, this serum is absorbed into your hair instantly to leave no greasiness – just smooth and shiny hair!!

So good news is that now you can also transform your hair and show me what your results look like too!!

Dove is giving away 10 x Dove Nutri-Oil serums to my readers!

All you have to do is comment below and tell me what the condition of your hair is, and why it needs “transforming”!

This giveaway will be for Australian Residents only and will be ending on 16th March 2012 5:00pm AEDST.

You can find the full terms and conditions from Nuffnang over here.

More updates on my hair transformation to come soon!!
